Wow! We left practice all agreeing how much better we sound! We attributed it to how we are getting to know each other’s voices, hearing each other, and really working on and refining our songs to our liking … getting better at annotating and organizing too! And finding sheet music that works for us. We practiced ISLAND STYLE, WHITE SANDY BEACH, DANCING IN THE DARK, CAN’T HELP FALLING IN LOVE WITH YOU, SOAK UP THE SUN, and HALLELUJAH.

Nityam will make some final edits to DANCING IN THE DARK.

We had a hard time with SOAK UP THE SUN in the Key of E, so we tried in the Key of D and also C. We liked C best. Karen showed us about capos. With her guidance, we also sang SOAK UP THE SUN from the music sheet in the Key of D, to the Key of C, just by transposing on sight!! So from the music sheet, every time we saw a D, we used a C (one letter before in the scale – A B C D E F G), for an A, we used a G, which is one letter before in the scale). For a G, we used an F. etc. Thank you Karen!
